Brunswick Billiard’s Black Wolf pool table has been designed with families in mind. A substantial sub-frame hidden beneath the slates ensures that the table remains solid at all times, which when you consider that this table comes with Brunswick’s 1″ thick Certified Slate included in the price, the ability to provide a very solid base is vitally important to the way that a pool table will play.

The Black Wolf is part of Brunswick’s “Contender” range of billiard tables, which means that you shouldn’t expect tournament standard ‘SuperSpeed’ cushion rubbers, and you’ll have heavy duty plastic rail castings and apron corners, rather than solid metal in the ‘Mainline Series’. However even metal scratches, especially with kids around and the thought is that, as you may want to replace damaged castings at some point in the future, plastic is a lot cheaper than chrome, or powder coated metal.

So how does it play…Well, since Brunswick have been designing and creating pool and billiard tables since 1845, you’d expect it to play as well as a Brunswick! And it does. If you’re going to choose any way to configure the leg design on a pool table, you’d want to choose a two pedestal format, just like the world championship Gold Crown V pro table. It really is the most solid format to build a pool table. This means that even with the Contender standard Centennial rail rubbers, you still get a far superior rebound to many competing tables costing 50% more.

This is down to the fact that Brunswick are the only billiard company in the world (at the time of writing), that adhere their rail rubber to the cushion by machine. What this means is that the rubber receives the same amount of pressure at every part of the rail, so rebound is surpassed only by the SuperSpeed rubber.

• Professional Delivery & Fitting. These are not ‘pub type’ pool tables that come in a box! These tables have to be put together in the correct way, otherwise you’re going to have problems. American Billiard Company ensure that their fitting teams have all been trained the Brunswick way.
