The Brunswick Bridgeport is based on the hugely popular Hawthorn pool table and it would have been very easy for Brunswick to have just sat back and continue to profit from the base model, but in the world we live in, it’s very important for a pioneering company like Brunswick to keep pushing things forward and to keep raising the bar.

That’s one of the main reasons I really like the new Bridgeport…it takes things on another level. I know the addition of the two new side drawers may seem like a simple addition, but engineering something so outwardly simple is in fact quite a feat, especially to do it to the level that Brunswick set.

The other reason I like the new Bridgeport is because it is based on the Hawthorn as I mentioned at the start, and the Hawthorn is one of the best performing Brunswick pool tables after the Competition series. The reason for this is due to the massive sub-frame hidden beneath the aprons.

In actual fact it’s a serious pain in the backside to fit, but once put together, you could almost sit an elephant on top it’s so sturdy. The rigidity of the frame all goes to help the rebound from the SuperSpeed cushions which are standard on this table.

If you’re unaware of Brunswick’s SuperSpeed cushions, then you need to know that they have been independently verified by the University of Wisconsin as the most accurate cushions currently available and they’re the same that Brunswick use on their Gold Crown V world championship pool table.

The Bridgeport and the Hawthorn are both very unassuming billiard tables that make a very bold, yet subtle statement. Both are available in 8ft table size and the Bridgeport is available in either a chestnut or Espresso (shown) stain finish.
